We are looking for an exceptional Head of Design.

You will:

  • Lead the Design team to determine current level of design knowledge and produce plans to train, support and mentor individuals, upskilling where required to ensure quotations and design proposals are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Lead the Design team to understand current competencies, upskilling the team.
  • Develop and implement an apprenticeship/graduate programme for the next generation of Designers, working 1-2-1 with candidates providing training and mentoring, assessing their development throughout the scheme.
  • Support individuals throughout both pre-construction and post acceptance design teams to work towards and achieve revelvant multi-utility accreditations in line with business requirements / needs.
  • Support where required with ongoing business recruitment to increase expertise within the business and expand in house capabilities.

You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in producing both a design and cost for multi-utility infrastructure.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience closely working with people and teams to assess skills and develop plans for improvement and upskilling.
  • Clear and strong understanding of utility network processes, specifications and governance.
  • Accredited in line with industry requirements.

Location: Sheffield

We are seeking two technically minded, organised individuals who specialise in multi utility estimating and/or pricing high rise buildings to join our Estimating team.

Your role will be to oversee all aspects of the process, evaluating the technical requirements of each new opportunity in order to deliver a proposed utility drawing and provide a commercially viable quotation based on delivery of works.

You should have at least 2 years’ experience of working within a similar role and ideally gained this experience within the utilities sector.

NERS/GIRS/WIRS accreditations would be advantageous but your ability to demonstrate technical competencies and your eagerness to learn is more important.

We are looking for a Multi Utility Designer to join our Design Team.

You will:

  • Demonstrate a clear interpretation of technical specification, understanding of the scope of works in order to produce a utility design compliant with relevant IGT/GT/ specifications.
  • Ensure that each design has relevant technical approval in a timely manner and is approved for construction.
  • Produce effective plans and schematic drawings for the gas aspect of the project.

You should be a Qualified GIRS or be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years in a role working to these regulations.

We have a new, exciting Apprenticeship opportunity.

We are looking for an Apprentice Permit Coordinator who is motivated, can demonstrate initiative, has attention to detail  and will play a key role in supporting the Group's NRSWA department.

This is a fantastic opportunity that will put you on a path for a rewarding and specialist career within NRSWA and the utilities sector.

Duties will include:

  • Checking and updating our live tracker / booking traffic management
  • Raising permit requests to local councils and liaising with the council when require
  • Use of Grid Reference, Google Maps and One Network to plan works
  • Requesting purchase orders
  • Updating and recording information on spreadsheets
  • Producing Stat Packs (safe dig reports)
  • Providing general administrative duties

Potential full-time employment is available on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

We are looking for an Asset Records Technician with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills. This would suit someone who enjoys working as part of a team to solve issues and hit joint targets.

You will:

  • Deliver the operational closure process across all utilities, ensuring that all closure documentation is checked against minimum standards and submitted to the relevant network owners within timeframes.
  • Ensure a collaborative approach to ensure the closure processes are as effective and efficient as possible.
  • Work closely with the finance team to support the AV invoicing process

We are looking for an Asset Gas Design Engineer to promote and maintain the integrity of our gas networks by ensuring the network is designed, constructed, managed and maintained in line with all required obligations.

Accountabilities include:

  • Safety and compliance – Ensure all designs are compliant with regulation, industry standards and FPL design policy. Review all critical asset closure submissions for PRI and High risk networks to support Asset Records Co-ordinators.
  • Regulation – Keep up to date with relevant regulations and standards and provide guidance where required to protect the Assets business with an emphasis on critical assets.
  • Financial Performance – Consider alternative design solutions to reduce costs of construction and/or future operation while maintaining network integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Coordinate the Safe Control of Operations (SCO) processes to ensure network integrity, competency of individuals.

A GIRS Design Accreditation is required and a willingness to learn as it is anticipated that this role will ultimately be a multi utility function to include electric.
